Project: Mi Lantana, Arboleda

Location: Monterrey, Mexico

Area: 40 m2

Description:

To create a Montessori-centered environment, an adaptation was made to incorporate an additional classroom, focusing on a space that allows children to easily access and return materials independently while minimizing clutter to reduce overstimulation and promote focus. Natural light, provided by large windows and glass surfaces, enhances the calming atmosphere, which is complemented by neutral-colored walls and furnishings. Personalizing the space with elements reflecting the local culture, such as artwork, plants, or maps, helps make it more relatable to the children. The classroom door was designed with an additional small door, allowing children to open and close it on their own, fostering a sense of independence. The circular window serves as both a visual connection between spaces and a tool for exploring shapes and symmetry, with tactile materials and a discovery station nearby, adding interactive elements
